I am also an essayist, poet, political scientist and social statistician. I have been on the faculty of York University in Toronto. I now live in Vermont. The things I love most are theatre, politics, and snow. As Hammerstein has said, “if you become a teacher, by your pupils you’ll be taught.” I’ve learned so very much up to and including wisdom.

I have an A.B. Degree from Middlebury College and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Calvin Coolidge said this about Vermont: “If the spirit of liberty should vanish in other parts of the Union, and support of our institutions should languish, it could all be replenished from the generous store held by the people of this brave little state of Vermont.”
